The team at Flood Relief Specialists (FRS) was successful in removing my house from the special flood hazard area on the flood map. FEMA had us in Zone A which is the special category they use to spread the cost of flood insurance to a larger population. I never thought it was fair or accurate but I did not know what to do. I am nowhere near water bigger than a pond. There is always risk but the 100-year flood event has not happened since this town was settled in ****. The premiums were excessive and higher than my hazard insurance. The cost of flood insurance is a wild card and you cannot know what the insurance companies will determine each year because the pricing is based on politics and not actual risk. FRS was knowledgeable and professional throughout the process. I appreciate their phased approach where their fees are charged in successful steps in the process. You must get the help of a specialist to understand and challenge the flood mapping. FRS knows what they are doing in this zany insurance scheme.
